Texas mom, gun advocate, killed by cops after shooting daughters

The woman who was killed by police after she fatally shot her two daughters at their Texas home has been identified as an outspoken gun advocate.
Christy Sheats, 42, shot and killed her two young daughters, Taylor, 22, and Madison Sheats, 17, during an argument that started inside their Houston-area home and spilled out into a residential street.
“It was a family argument that turned into a shooting,” Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls told the Houston Chronicle. “But we’re still trying to put the pieces together.”
Police records revealed that deputies had been called multiple times in the past to the family’s home, located west of Houston in an unincorporated area near Fulshear, Tex."But as to why we were called here, I don’t know,” Nehls said.
Christy Sheats' husband was at home at the time of the incident. He was not injured but he was taken to the hospital because he was so emotionally distraught.

“He’s going through a very difficult time,” Nehls said.
The incident started around 5 p.m. Friday in the family's middle class subdivision when someone reported to police that shots had been fired.
When Fulshear police arrived to the scene, two women were lying on the street in front of the home, the Chronicle reported.
"That armed shooter was also in the street and, after refusing to drop her weapon was shot and killed by a Fulshear officer," the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said.
